Year 1
Friday 11th November 2022
We have had a great week in Year 1, despite all of the coughs and colds!
In maths, we have been sharing amounts to make equal groups. The children have been doing this practically using real life scenarios. I am sure if you asked them at home to share an amount between family members, they would love to show you what they have learnt!
In English, the children have produced a story map of ‘The Three Little Pigs’. They have really impressed me with their attitude to this and their story maps are wonderful.
In science, we are starting to learn about animals, how to group them and what type of habitats they live in. Today, we went on a hunt for different animals in our school. We went down to the Forest school with our magnifying glasses and found all sorts of creatures!
Last half term, half of the class took part in Forest school every Tuesday afternoon. This half term, the other half will have their turn and they had their first session this week. Please can all of the children have wellingtons and waterproofs in school. Thank you!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Miss Prichard and Mrs Kitcher.
