What a lovely first week back we have had in Koala class!
In English, we have started our new topic of ‘The Three Little Pigs’. The children know the story really well! This week, we have made puppets of all the main characters and we have been practicing retelling the story in groups. Today, Koala class did an excellent job when they performed the story to Badger class! Year R enjoyed the retelling of the story and especially loved the puppets!
In maths, we have been working on counting in 2s. We have used the bead strings, number lines and cubes to help us. The children have all grasped this really well and we have now moved onto counting in 2s to help us solve real life problems.
We were very lucky to have Miss Jones with us this week to help us make tea light holders. We made them from clay and used our forest school experiences to help us decide how to design it. We had some lovely leaves, hedgehogs and heart shapes!
I have set a new task on Maths Shed this week. I know lots of the children enjoy this so if you have a spare few minutes to have a go, that would be great!
I have also set a new book on Collins Ebooks. The children have been reading this book in school so I am sure they will be keen to share it with you.
Thank you to those who have already sent a picture of your child with their favourite toy. This will be so helpful to help them with their writing in a couple of weeks’ time.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Miss Prichard and Mrs Kitcher.
