Today we are going to continue looking at halves and quarters. Well done for everything you have done so, I know fractions can be a little tricky but you’re doing well. First of all I would like you to go through the PowerPoint and answer the questions using mathematical language if you can. Explain why you think it is right or wrong. equal, split (divided), I have, the same, parts.
Next I would like you to choose a number from your number cards (1-20), go and collect the correct number of items to match your card. Can you split the number in half? Can you split it into quarters? Why? (explain in words – you do not need to write it down) Repeat.
