This week we will be looking at The Gruffalo, which should be familiar with most of you. Start today by reading the story together, joining in with familiar or repeated parts of the story. If you do not have a copy of the story at home there are versions on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8sUPpPc8Ws
After reading I would like you to draw the different characters and label them. Then put a speech bubble next to each character – what might they say in the story?
For the rest of your time, I would like you to draw the characters, colour them in and then cut them out. If you have lolly sticks, you could turn them into puppets. Can you retell the story using your pictures?

Changing seasons: What types of weather can you name? Look at the pictures – have you missed any? Point to a weather type and act out how the symbols make you feel (e.g. hold up the snowy one and pretend to shiver). You could watch short videos showing some of the different weather types. What sometimes happens when the sun is out but it’s also raining? How do you feel about storms? What is their favourite weather?
Name a weather type, and can you find something in the house that you would wear during this weather? How does this weather make you feel? Repeat with a different weather.
Today you will begin to record the weather daily, use the sheet for guidance and complete in your Home Learning Books. |
