This week’s highlight was World Book Day! The children loved dressing in their cosy clothes and took part in exciting activities like creating mini-books and bookmarks, plus using drama to bring stories to life.
Welcome Back
It has been wonderful finding out about the children’s half term adventures and they have been very enthusiastic sharing their diaries. Thank you for your support in helping the children to complete these.
Good evening and happy half-term!
What a fantastic half-term we have had! The children have been incredibly enthusiastic about learning all about dinosaurs and have amazed us with their fantastic writing, including fact files and dino diaries. It has truly been a "roarsome" experience!
On Monday 10th February, the children will be tasting different flavours of jelly during their science lesson. They will be deciding which of their five senses is the most helpful when carrying out this experiment. If there are any concerns or any new allergies that the school is unaware of, please email me on a.burch@brockenhurst-primary.hants.sch.uk.
Many thanks
The Year 1 team
Good evening,
We've had an exciting week in Year 1! A special letter from the Natural History Museum arrived, asking us to care for a dinosaur egg the children discovered. We've been documenting its progress and staying in close contact with the museum. Excitingly, the egg has now begun to hatch!
Reading at home
This week, the highlight was definitely the 'Sleeping Beauty Panto' at the Village Hall. Many children really enjoyed it, and we thank the PTA for organising this event.
Collins eBooks for Home Reading
Just a quick but important note, some children are not sure if they are reading their Collins book at home. Each week, the assigned book directly supports your child’s phonics learning and features engaging illustrations, making it a great resource.
