Happy New Year!

We have had a lovely first week back in Badger Class. We have been reading 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' and enjoyed lots of lovely activities which link to the book. We have been retelling the story with story stones and props and the children have loved putting on all of the voices for the characters! We have also enjoyed drawing maps for Goldilocks, separating sand and porridge oats, drawing self-portraits and playing in our new café role-play area. 

In maths, we have been learning to subitise by recognising the composition of numbers. We have used skittles, dice, teddy bears and tens frames to help us do this. 

In Drawing Club this week, we have been looking at one of our favourite stories 'The Giant Jam Sandwich'. We have done some fantastic drawings of the wasps and a map of Itching Down. We have also managed to label our drawings with words that have our new sounds in them; ai, ee, igh and oa. 

Miss Welton said that Badger Class had a lovely (and wet!) Forest School session on Wednesday afternoon. It was lucky that they had a hot chocolate and biscuits to warm them up afterwards. As their clothes were wet, Miss Welton sent them home after school. If you could bring them back into school by Wednesday, that would be great. Thank you.
