How lovely to see some sunshine! It has been lovely to do lots of our writing, maths and art work outside this week. 

Our sunflower seeds that we planted are coming along nicely - we are enjoying checking their progress every couple of days. 

In writing this week, we have continued to think about plants and our instructions on how to plant a seed. We have also been learning the names for the different parts of a plant and adding labels. 

In maths, we have been using 2D shapes to describe and manipulate positions of objects. We have created some great tangram pictures and we have enjoyed working in pairs giving instructions on how to position an object. 

This has linked nicely to our art topic this week, where we have been looking at the art work of Wassily Kandinsky. We drew around 2D shapes and then used water colour paints to fill them in. We have since used watercolours in our creative choosing time and designed beautiful flowers.
