What a busy week! We had a fantastic day on Monday when we went to Lymington Library. We started our trip out by walking to Brockenhurst station where we boarded the train to Lymington. We then walked up to the Library for 10 o’clock where we listened to the lovely librarians talk to us about the library and books - they were very impressed with everything that we knew about reading. We also took part in a trail where we had to look for clues and also listened to 'Room on the Broom' with props from a story sack. The children listened to the grown ups beautifully and really enjoyed the engaging activities. We ate our snack and then walked up to the play park. We ate our picnic lunch (most definitely the highlight of the day for some!) and then enjoyed an hours play in the park. On the train home, we enjoyed the sights to Lymington Pier and then made our way back to Brockenhurst. Well done Badgers, you made us very proud and represented the school beautifully. It was a pleasure to take you.
This week in our writing sessions, we have been reading the book 'Jaspers Beanstalk' and linking it to our experiences of planting seeds last week. We made up some actions to help us to remember the steps and some of us have started to write some fantastic instructions. We will continue with this next week.
A reminder that Library book change is always on a Friday.
I showed the children today where they can access their Little Wandle reading book online and they were quite excited about seeing it on the computer. I set these each Friday and these follow on and consolidate the phonics and reading we have done in school.
Forest School will begin after May Half term.
Have a lovely long weekend!
