What a lovely week with lots of exciting things happening.
We have been reading the book ‘Monkey Puzzle’ and matching animals and their young as part of our science learning. Some names have been quite surprising! We have also used this book to create our own family tree.
On Wednesday, we were very lucky to be visited by 3 very special visitors. Chestnut the Pygmy goat kid, Pirate the texel cross lamb and Bluebell the Badger face lamb came to see us! The children enjoyed stroking them and asking lots of interesting questions. This has linked perfectly to our topic of animals and their young, the book ‘Monkey Puzzle’ and Mother’s Day! All of the children had a go at stroking the animals, even if they were a bit hesitant to begin with. Obviously some of us didn’t want them to leave! Well done Badgers and a huge thank you to our visitors.
We loved seeing all of Badgers excellent costumes for Wold Book Day and hearing all about their favourite books. We started the day with a special World Book Day assembly and then came back to Badger class for a quiz and a scavenger hunt. We were then very lucky to be visited by our lovely Year 6 children who read stories to us.
In maths, we have been focusing on subitising 9 and 10 and verbally explaining our reasoning. We are getting very good at explaining different formations and representations of numbers, both verbally and pictorially.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
