Year R
Friday Blog - Friday 7th July
Good afternoon everyone,
It was our last Little Flames service today and it was lovely that so many of you could join us at the church. The children were superstars, as always! We were asked our favourite song and had chosen 'My Lighthouse' - the children were not phased by the wrong version being up on the screens, they just kept singing. They did a much better job on our second go, with the right version and were given a round of applause. The ladies were very touched by the beautiful card we had made them and said a big thank you to them all.
We are looking forward to sports day on Monday and have been busy practising races. We hope you will be able to join us for a picnic lunch on the field at 12pm and then stay to watch the races in the afternoon.
We have been practising old and learning new poems from The Poetry Basket and the children would love the opportunity to perform them to you. We hope to invite you into school on Wednesday 19th July in the afternoon. We will write our invitations to you next week.
We have been sharing in Maths this week, practising sharing different amounts between a different number of people. The children were fantastic at solving our real life problem. We had 12 plants and 3 pots to put them in. The children were challenged to find out how many plants should be put in each pot. We had great fun, once we had solved the problem, at planting the pots and are hoping for more flowers before the holidays.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
The Year R Team
