We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year R

Friday Blog - Friday 5th May

Good afternoon everyone,

We've been Coronation crazy this week in Badger Class! We've heard some interesting facts about our new king; we've made beautiful crowns; we've made flags; paper chains have been strung together - some in a repeating pattern - which we have used around the school!

This afternoon we have joined the whole school for a Coronation Celebration. All the children looked fantastic in their crowns and they all loved the delicious cake or biscuit!

In between all the festivities, we have managed to squeeze in phonics and reading. In phonics, we have been focussing on words with 2 or 3 adjacent consonants. The children showed such resilience with this, particularly when writing these words which they found trickier than reading. They have new tricky words - were, here, little, says. I will also put new books onto their e-libraries.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend, however you are celebrating the Coronation!
