Our Day
Our qualified staff provide stimulating and exciting resources to enhance children’s learning through their play experiences. All activities are carefully planned to meet the children’s individual needs using the 3i’s, Intent, Implementation, and Impact. We provide a wide range of specially chosen toys, play and craft equipment for both indoor and outdoor play. The staff have a clear knowledge of their key children’s interests and use this information to inform their planning.
We have an amazing outdoor area with specialist play equipment, mud kitchen, vegetable patch and decking. We have the use of the school playground for bikes and scooters and the use of an age appropriate adventure playground.
Our activities are linked to topics following the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework: Communication and language, Personal, Social, Emotional Development, Physical, Maths, and Literacy, Understanding the World, Expressive Art and Design.
In addition, daily finger gym activities are encouraged to develop the children’s fine motor skills in preparation for emergent mark-making. Weekly PE sessions and yoga are held in the school hall to help strengthen core muscles.
Forest activities take place in our woodland area, providing opportunities for outdoor craft, mud kitchen and the feeding of our friendly pigs, Snuffle and Acorn.
Alongside these activities, the children will have an opportunity to participate in whole school activities, such as weekly worship, library visits, Christmas festivities and Sports Day.
